General Overview
This is a 12-month internship for someone who wants hands on experience in B2B marketing. You won’t be assigned to one area, over the year you’ll work across events, content, social media, research and design, picking up whatever needs doing that week. It suits an all-rounder: someone keen, organised and happy to roll their sleeves up, whether that’s designing a social graphic in the morning or packing boxes for a trade show in the afternoon. You’ll get plenty of support, and as you find your feet you’ll be trusted to run pieces of work yourself.
What you’ll do (but not limited to)
Events
- Help plan and deliver our trade shows, webinars and our annual customer conference;
- Look after the logistics: stand kit, printed materials, venue details, delegate lists, hotel bookings;
- Be there on the day, talking to fleet managers and helping things run smoothly;
- Develop and deliver engaging post event communications.
Content and campaigns
- Write and edit blog posts, guides, case studies and email newsletters;
- Read industry news items to find stories worth telling;
- Help keep our website and content hub up to date;
- Help coordinate our marketing campaigns, keeping track of what’s going out and when, then report on how each one performed.
Social media
- Plan, write and schedule posts, mainly on LinkedIn;
- Create short videos and graphics for social;
- Keep an eye on comments and engagement, and report on how posts perform.
Research
- Keep up with what’s happening in the fleet and transport world, from DVSA and O-licence changes to EV adoption;
- Look into competitors and what they’re saying;
- Help gather customer feedback and pull together findings we can use in campaigns.
Design
- Create simple social graphics, email headers and presentation slides, working from our brand templates;
- Brief and work with our designers on bigger pieces such as brochures and event materials;
- Check that everything we put out looks and sounds like FleetCheck. If design is your thing, there’s plenty of room to take on more.
What we need
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related subject, or equivalent qualification or experience;
- Excellent written communication skills, with strong spelling, grammar and attention to detail;
- Confidence communicating with a range of people, both over the phone and face to face;
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with a willingness to learn and ask questions;
- Initiative and a problem-solving mindset, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks;
- Resilience and tenacity when faced with challenges;
- Curiosity about business and a genuine interest in marketing.
It would also be great if you also had:
- Experience creating content or managing social media accounts for a club, society, business or personal project;
- An interest in graphic design and experience using Adobe Creative Suite;
- A portfolio showcasing design, content creation or marketing work from your studies, employment or personal projects.
What you’ll get out of it
- A year of hands-on experience across a wide range of marketing activities;
- The opportunity to contribute to real campaigns, events, content and design projects from day one;
- A portfolio of live work that you can showcase throughout your future career;
- Regular one-to-one coaching with the Head of Marketing, alongside support from the wider marketing team;
